Cinema Trip

We were taken to the cinema to see 'The Rite' with our media class. We were all excited because it was a horror, and the majority of us really love them (apart from Heather). It wasn't as great as we had hoped, there were some really amazing shots, but some of the storyline didn't really make sense, and I felt there was more that needed explaining at times. This didn't hinder it's ability to scare me though! I was watching through my hands for the most part! Which of course,is great, as it meant it was doing it's job. Overall however, I think it could have been a lot better, and was slightly overrated. I wouldn't be in a hurry to watch it again.

In Fridays lesson (5th Novemember) , we watched the film Se7en, directed fantastically by David Fincher. With an excellent plot and gripping ending finding a flaw would be a challenge. The shots were unique and extremely interesting, the film was put together perfectly. The characters were played exceptionally well, especially that of the psychotic murderer, played by Kevin Spacey. Some may even say it was the making of his career. I will definitely be looking to this film for inspiration for my opening.

Lesson 8th Oct

In fridays lesson we pitched our opening idea to the class , in the hope that we'd get the green light, and be given our equipment. After hearing our pitch all of the class agreed on giving us the go-ahead and we were finally given the equipment! Our group is really excited about starting filming, I think we're all going to really enjoy this project. We also got the chance to hear everyone elses pitches, all of their ideas are brilliant.

This was our pitch:

Monday 4th October

In todays lesson we were left to brainstorm ideas for our films in our groups. My group came up with an original idea of a Brit film, based around a young, troubled girl. However after watching the opening to the film 'The Hole', we decided to scrap the idea of the young girl, and make something more straightforward, but equally as effective. We're still unsure about some aspects of our opening, but we have the basic plot.
